GUEST BLOGGER

Few in the writing world have not heard of my guest blogger this week. Edie Melson is a writer's cheerleader and encourager and has such a wealth of knowledge about the writing and publishing world that practically anything she says or writes is a nugget of gold.

Her recently-published goldmine is a book entitled, Soul Care for Writers, published by Bold Vision Books. Edie helps the reader find Soul Care solutions using devotions and prayers and opportunities for creative expression. As a result, the reader develops a deeper relationship with God and embraces rest for a weary soul.

One of my favorite devotions Edie included in her book reminded me that "God takes the scenic route." I love a scenic route, as is evidenced by my blog that focuses on lessons from God's creations.

Edie loves God's lessons in nature, too, and she especially loves photographing His creations. If you follow along with her blogs and other postings, you'll find many of her personal photos of God's masterpieces.

Be sure to check out those blogging nuggets and Edie's new book goldmine, and make a daily habit of looking for God's magnificent nature treasures, too.

Finding God in Nature

by Edie Melson @EdieMelson

Being outdoors fills me up. Nature reminds me of God's infinite creativity and love. How about you?

  3. What a spectacular image and quote. This post brought one of my favorite Bible verses to mind:
"The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge. They have no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them. Yet their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world..." (Psalm 19:1-4a NIV)

  4. I absolutely love that passage, Joshua! God's creations declare His glory day and night, with no speech, no words, no sound. His glory is evident just by their very being. What a marvelous thought!

  6. Yes, God takes us on the scenic route, and it ends up being better than the way we planned!

  7. Oh, my goodness, Heather - you are so right!! When I go through my "petitions" in my prayer time, and then God blesses me with something way different than what I prayed for, it reminds me that His plans are way better than mine!!!
